The short version
Every round, player, score and settlement you create lives in a database on your iPhone. RoundPlay does not send that data anywhere. There is no sign-up, no email address, no password, and no user profile, so there is nothing for us to hold even if we wanted to.
Not because we promise not to look, but because the app has no account system and no backend to look at. Deleting the app deletes the data with it.
What the app stores on your device
All of this stays local to your iPhone and is included in your device backup if you have iCloud Backup or encrypted local backups turned on. Those backups are governed by Apple's terms, not ours.

Location
If you allow it, RoundPlay asks iOS for your location once, while the app is open, to sort the course list by how near each course is to you. Specifically:
- It requests reduced accuracy, not your precise position.
- It takes a single reading. There is no background location, no tracking, and no location history.
- The reading is used in memory to sort a list and is not saved, logged, or transmitted.
- The course list it sorts is bundled inside the app, so no search or location is sent over the network to look courses up.
Declining the permission is fully supported. You can still search the entire course list by name, city or state, and you can add a course by hand. You can change or revoke the permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → RoundPlay.
What we do not do
- No analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics, attribution, advertising or crash-reporting SDK of any kind. It has no third-party code in it at all.
- No advertising, and no data sold or shared. We do not sell, rent or share personal information, and there is no advertising identifier in use.
- No tracking across apps or websites as the App Tracking Transparency framework defines it, which is why the app never asks for that permission.
- No payments. RoundPlay records who owes what. It never holds, moves, or takes a cut of money, and it never asks for card or bank details.
When information does leave the app
There are two, and you start both of them deliberately.
Sharing a scorecard
Tapping Share hands a summary image and text to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice of app or contact, and it is governed by whatever service you picked. Nothing is shared unless you tap Share and choose a destination.
Emailing us
If you email support, we obviously receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and nothing else. See Support.
Children
RoundPlay is a scorekeeping tool for a game frequently played for money, and it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app's design means we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal information a company holds about you. Because RoundPlay holds none, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase on request. You have direct control instead:
- See it: everything the app knows is visible in the app.
- Delete a round: deleted rounds move to Recently Deleted, where you can restore them or purge them for good.
- Delete everything: delete the app. That removes the database and everything in it.
If you believe we hold information about you and want it removed, write to us and we will act on it.
Changes to this policy
If RoundPlay ever gains a feature that changes what leaves your device, such as syncing a round between phones, we will update this page and note the change here before that feature ships. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
